Kindle Fire: Amazon has to be be losing money on these devices. $199 for a full-featured tablet with all of Amazon’s (proven) services? They’ll easily make up for the hit they’re taking on each of these with the amount of content they sell. This is huge news. It’s not for me, though. I can’t stand reading on backlit displays.
Kindle Touch: Pretty cool features at $99, but it’s touch-only. If it had the side page-turning buttons I would have purchased it. I love where they’re going with this, but I don’t want to constantly wipe off finger smudges.
Kindle: Here’s the winner. $79 for the true successor of the previous $139 Kindle. The only thing I’m doing on here is reading; I don’t need a touch screen. Sure it has “special offers,” but honestly they look better than the traditional Kindle screen savers. I bought this one, and it’ll be at my door on Friday.
